BENEFIT and COST

When discussing the cost it is important to look at the benefit of bringing in an End of Life Doula.

Each dying person’s needs are unique to their specific situation, but the services offered by an end-of-life doula could include a mix of the following:

• Providing the opportunity to talk openly and honestly about the dying process.
• Alleviating the anxiety, guilt and shame often associated with death and dying.
• Developing a plan for how the person’s environment looks, feels, sounds and smells.
• Coordinating with family and friends to evaluate visitation.
• Sitting vigil with a person as they near their final moments. (when available)
• Assisting with obituaries and planning funeral services.
• Providing supplemental grief counseling and companionship after someone has died.
• Finding creative ways to honor the person after they’ve died, which can include the person who’s dying as a part of that process and exploring that person’s life and legacy.

We offer a flat rate 30 day care package for $1,000.

$500 paid on Day 1 and $500 paid on day 15. After the initial 30 day contract the rate goes to 15 day increments of $450.

The services included in this care package:

• Assistance with obtaining Advanced Directive, Do Not Resuscitate  and Power of Attorney paperwork.
• Assistance with obtaining final arrangements (funeral home)
• 2-4 hours of respite care per week
• 2-4 meetings per week with the End of Life Doula for planning memorial or living memorial, emotional and spiritual support and more.
• Holistic approaches to care for your loved one and self care for caregivers.

**Under certain situations a sliding scale may be used to evaluate a lower cost for limited services**
